ACCA Hong Kong is making this year’s ACCA Community Day a virtual running event.
Called the Rickshaw Run Around the World in 18 Days, the event invites participants to run any time and anywhere over the course of the 18 days from 16 December 2021 to 2 January 2022. Rather than the traditional rickshaw-racing team format, this year’s event is about collaboration. The cumulative distance run by all participants will contribute to a single goal: raising donations for local charitable causes.
Jennifer Tan, chairman of ACCA Hong Kong, said: ‘Our social responsibility has become even more critical in a post-pandemic era, contributing to sustainable development and a better future for all. We are very proud to help our community via this year’s ACCA Community Day with a virtual running event. We very much hope we can all lead a healthy and sustainable lifestyle amid today’s global health crisis. By driving for the same goal, we can certainly go a longer way together!’
ACCA Hong Kong’s annual flagship event, the rickshaw competition has raised over HK$21m since it was launched in 1997. Proceeds this year will go towards programmes organised by three charities: Healthy Hong Kong, Project Concern Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Society for the Blind.
