At a young age I was passionate about working in a corporate organisation and being a woman in a leadership role. The women in my family were an endless source of inspiration for me growing up. Both my mother and sister have been constant presences in my life, teaching me that real success comes when we step out of our comfort zone to achieve our dreams. I have watched them balancing their work and life, leading by example, and believing that every woman should be courageous, take risks and have a positive mindset.

At the age of 19, I started working with KPMG in the UAE. Here I met many colleagues who have become lifelong friends and mentors.

I enjoy working for an audit firm. Very few careers will expose you to so much, so fast, and allow you to grow professionally. You can take on large amounts of responsibility early in your career, while working under highly successful and intelligent people.

I believe you should always dream big. Believe in yourself and get out of your comfort zone. I truly feel that you can do anything if you work hard and never give up.

The best part about my job is that I can learn something new every single day. I am constantly presented with new challenges. I also get to meet inspirational business leaders and become a part of their network. The biggest professional achievement in my life has been the value I have added both internally and externally to my clients and colleagues.

I am close to several charitable causes. If I could, I would create a new law that would reduce inequalities. I believe poverty is not an issue of scarcity, but of logistics. There is a social inequality between people who don’t have enough money to fulfil even the basic necessities and people who have money far beyond their needs.

To create a healthy social equilibrium in society, there should be a law on how wealth is distributed. Those people who have net income or assets above a certain level should donate a fixed proportion of their wealth each year to charitable causes. The idea is to have an economic order that prevents money being circulated among the rich only. It would also create a sense of unity in society.

If I was not an accountant, I would be a human rights lawyer fighting for the rights of the less fortunate. It’s something I’m passionate about. Such lawyers challenge discrimination and defend the freedoms of ordinary people. I’d like to do that.

Outside of work, I love designing modest clothing for women. I also enjoy horse riding and, as I live in Dubai, I am blessed to be able to ride beautiful Arabian horses.
