The best European country in which to start a business is Lithuania, according to research from Blacktower Financial Management.

The Baltic states and Eastern European countries top the list of the 31 European jurisdictions assessed (see the full list). The rankings were calculated according to five weighted factors: the percentage of the population with university degrees, average net salary, corporate tax rate, cost of living and office rental costs. The UK was ranked 26th.

Searches for ‘how to start a new business’ increased by 200% in the past years, the report states.
