In spite of headwinds generated by inflation, geopolitics and uncertainty around global tax reform, Ireland continues to punch above its weight in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

EY measured FDI performance across 44 countries in Europe. Its analysis shows:
Ireland secured 184 new greenfield and expansion FDI projects in 2022, up from 152 in 2021, 48% of which were located outside Dublin. The country was among Europe’s top five for investments in the high-value, knowledge-intensive sectors of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and research and development centres.
Ireland continues to appeal strongly to US companies as an FDI location.
