Accountancy and law firms in the UK are being invited to take advantage of funded support to explore how to make better use of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

A range of support packages are available as part of a £1.8m accelerator project, Technology in Professional Services (TiPS). A joint initiative from Lancaster University Management School, Oxford Brookes University and Hyperscale Group, TiPS aims to help firms use digital technologies to become more productive and develop new services.

TiPS is looking for mid-tier and smaller firms at different stages of technology adoption to join forces with researchers and accountancy and law specialists to access practical, tailored help.

Firms will be helped to bed in sector-specific solutions over up to 10 months

There are three support pathways, with Path B still open for applicants (deadline 31 January 2024). Path B is for firms that already have some digital experience but want to take on a new technology and apply it to an important professional service or business task. The support on offer will come in the initial adoption phase, with firms getting help to bed in sector-specific solutions over the course of eight to 10 months.

Path A was for firms with minimal experience of digital technology, and Path C for those looking to extend the use of the technology over the course of at least 12 months. The deadline for applications for these two paths was 7 December 2023.

Firms interested in finding out more, getting involved or joining the TiPS community should complete the expression of interest form.
