I’m currently with the cyber and forensic team at PwC South East Asia Consulting. The best part of my role is that it allows me to pursue various interests and diverse portfolios relating to investigation and forensic services.
I have come to realise over the years that I really appreciate a dynamic working environment in which I’m constantly challenged by new and differing tasks. This keeps me motivated and always on the go. The adrenaline rush comes with the knowledge that I would be introduced to different client environments and ecosystems, face various issues and challenges in operations, and offer solutions with my team. Every day is a learning opportunity, especially through team sharing and discussions, and all to achieve a common goal of helping our clients.

As clichéd as it may sound, my life decisions and choices are broadly influenced by what my heart feels in the moment. However, if I was to pick my biggest career influence, I would say my parents, because had it not been for their advice to pursue the ACCA qualification, I might not have found myself on this wonderful career path. That being said, I also appreciate the mentoring and advice I’ve received from partners, seniors and peers throughout the journey.
I started my career as a tax associate in 2017 within goods and services tax (GST) advisory services at BDO Malaysia. In 2019, I made a career shift to risk advisory services.
I realised that while I enjoyed tax advisory, I wanted to pursue consulting on a broader level
When I look back on my career, I feel lucky for the opportunities I’ve received and the people who have helped me to identify my true interest – helping and advising people and clients. When I was in tax services, I got the opportunity to work on a project with the risk advisory team. This was when I realised that while I enjoyed tax advisory, I wanted to pursue consulting on a broader level and address client concerns that came about from other operational aspects, and not tax issues alone. I was fortunate to have great leaders who supported me and gave me the opportunity to pursue my interests from the get-go.
