This is one of the key findings of research by ACCA, IFAC and PwC about emissions reduction, which also points to developments in technology and particularly artificial intelligence (AI) to help organisations generate insights from ESG data.

In other tech developments, we look at how AI can support practices with their data security and compliance protocols; and how practitioners need to address staff fears and data security concerns if they’re to roll out the use of AI in their firms.

In business news, we share a snapshot of how the finance function has been involved in a major business transformation project at logistics company Maersk.

And for members in the public sector – and local government in particular – we look at the latest data around local authority budget shortfalls, which are predicted to jump further, by 60%, over the next two years.
