ACCA has launched a six-month programme for recently qualified members from across Europe designed to boost their career development.

The applicants to the Leaders of Tomorrow programme were asked about their career goals and aspirations, their current roles and how they thought the programme would make a difference, and what they would bring to the initiative as an ACCA ambassador. Those who were selected for the initiative have the opportunity to join a network of peers and business leaders across Europe, as well as being able to identify themselves as an ACCA ‘Leader of Tomorrow’.

‘This is a great opportunity for members to get ahead in their careers’

From January to June, participants are attending a series of interactive webinars, covering the following:

  • a self-awareness and preference profile and workshop, delivered by organisational development company Emergenetics
  • leadership skills in a disrupted world, including the impact of technology
  • accounting in the age of artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • learning to think strategically
  • forecasting
  • building your brand to support career advancement
  • a celebration event with the chief executive and president of ACCA and industry-leading figures.

Janet Baker, head of ACCA Europe, says: ‘This is a great opportunity for members to get ahead in their careers, by adding to their skillsets and preparing themselves for future challenges. We have a really wide range of participants, so there is lots of different expertise to share.’

Aspirations

Of the 42 ACCA members taking part in the programme, 10 are from Ireland, alongside members from Denmark, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Moldova, Romania, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Spain. The participants are drawn from a diverse range of industries, including financial services, aerospace, telecoms, real estate, hospitality and travel, as well as from firms.

Over the next few months, AB will be talking to the participants about their career to date, what the Leaders of Tomorrow programme means for them, and how they see their career progressing. Look out for our regular ‘The view from…’ interviews to find out more.
