I love working in the music industry. Its vibrant atmosphere adds an extra layer of excitement and creativity to my role, which includes taking care of financial reporting, cashflow and budgeting, and contributing to planning and investments analysis.

What I enjoy most about my job is the sense of accomplishment I get from the impact of my financial inputs. It is rewarding to know that my efforts contribute to the growth of the company.

The rise of digital streaming platforms offers opportunities for growth

There are significant opportunities for growth in the music sector. The rise of digital streaming platforms, which are increasingly popular among Middle Eastern consumers, gives music companies a chance to reach a wider audience and monetise their content.

The rich musical heritage and diverse local music scenes of the Middle East also offer great possibilities for collaboration and cultural exchange. By investing in this talent, music companies can tap into the region’s vibrant creative energy. Live events remain popular, generating revenue and engaging audiences.

That said, the industry does face some big challenges in the Middle East. These include limited distribution, low penetration rates and fewer premium users than in some other parts of the world. The region’s diverse cultural landscape also presents a unique marketing challenge for international music labels.

I realised the value an accountant can bring to a business through analysis and insight

My decision to pursue accountancy was influenced by my uncle who is also a successful professional accountant. He made me realise the value an accountant can bring to a business through analysis and insight. I chose ACCA due to its global recognition, flexibility and a syllabus that prepares accountants for a wide range of roles. Before joining Warner Music MENA, I worked with multiple companies, including Hashoo Hotels, Thumbay Healthcare and telecoms business Qanawat.

At Thumbay I found out what it was like to step out of my comfort zone when I opted to switch business segments. Although I was comfortable where I was and knew the switch was a risk, it allowed me to learn new skills and gain a broader perspective. I have no regrets as I was able to gain greater experience of statutory reporting, business analysis and technological solutions, which has since proved valuable.

Success is not granted to those who merely wish for it, but to those who put the effort in

Gaining the ACCA qualification at the age of just 21 is my biggest achievement. But I am also proud of my whole professional journey – all the way from being a trainee to a finance manager contributing to the success of my company.

My favourite quote is: hard work and dedication are the keys that unlock the door to success. It helps remind me that success is not granted to those who merely wish for it, but to those who invest the necessary time, energy and dedication.

If I were not working in finance, I would explore the world of software development. I would enjoy building things with digital tools and creating apps that help people.

We need every person and organisation to share a sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth

If I had the power, I would pass laws that reduce pollution, save endangered animals and keep the environment healthy. We need to mitigate the effects of climate change and encourage every person and organisation to be part of the process and share a sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth.

When I am not at work I like to travel. It allows me to relax and explore unfamiliar places while trying out new experiences and seeing amazing sights. Every trip is a chance to make memories and discover more about the world.
