ACCA’s governing body, Council, has agreed to co-opt two new members, George Erumeda Varghese and Manenzhe Manenzhe, following a recommendation by ACCA’s Nominating and Governance Committee.

In accordance with bye-law 23, this will be for a three-year period. Council is confident that both members will bring their extensive experience to its work, strengthening its global voice and connectivity, and ensuring it remains reflective of ACCA’s membership.

Council met virtually on 7 March 2025, with the meeting featuring discussions and decisions on a number of important areas, including the following:

  • The officer team updated Council on their activities since November 2024, and a Council representative provided an update on the most recent International Assembly meeting.
  • Council received a presentation on – and considered in workshop groups – ACCA’s global policy priorities.
  • The chief executive shared a presentation and report focused on strategic performance and key strategic matters and issues.
  • Council received a report from the president on the most recent Council Board meetings held in December 2024 and February 2025.
  • The president made a presentation providing a summary of the key themes arising from the Council member end-of-year discussions for 2023–24.
  • Council noted a report from Nominating and Governance Committee on their December 2024 meeting and a report from the Qualifications Board that included the ratification of the December 2024 examination results.

The next Council meeting is on 3 July 2025.
