I’ve always been intrigued by how companies really work – how they manage to run smoothly, make money and keep themselves going. This curiosity led me to dive into accounting and get a front-row seat to see how everything operates and how the money flows.
Born and raised in Zimbabwe, I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with an accounting degree. I then joined the national power company as a trainee accountant and started my ACCA journey. I found the work unfulfilling but I was inspired by the professionalism of the auditors I worked with, so I joined Grant Thornton as an audit associate. After four enriching years, I relocated to Australia in 2024 to join EY as a senior audit associate, marking another significant milestone in my career.
At EY I lead engagement teams for external audits of large clients in various sectors, including health insurance, mining, construction and consumer markets. As an audit senior, I’m responsible for audit planning, risk assessments, coordinating engagements and coaching junior team members.

I was among the top four best performing affiliates in Zimbabwe
Balancing work and personal life can be challenging, especially during the busy season. However, good time management, staying healthy and having a supportive team make it manageable. Each engagement offers unique challenges and learning opportunities, which makes audit a versatile and exciting field.
The ACCA qualification has transformed my life. In Zimbabwe, it allowed me to train with a top firm and audit major companies. This experience facilitated my migration to Australia, where I seamlessly integrated with colleagues and excelled. I have built networks with other ACCA members, who have helped a lot in my career journey. ACCA is a gateway to global opportunities and success.
Growing up, many people encouraged me to become a doctor but that wasn’t for me. My true passion lay in understanding how companies manage their money. In high school, an accounting teacher, whom we affectionately called ‘Fathers’, suggested I become a chartered accountant. Taking his advice, I pursued the ACCA qualification, which has opened numerous opportunities and solidified my passion for accounting and finance.
I want to be that woman who has it all
When I finished my ACCA exams, I was overjoyed to learn that I was among the top four best performing affiliates in Zimbabwe, an achievement featured in the local newspaper. Sharing the news with my family and friends brought immense happiness and many of my friends were inspired to persevere in their own ACCA journeys.
My goal in life is to thrive in all things. I want to be that woman who has it all – thriving in my career, in my marriage, in raising my children and in every aspect of my life. I love hanging out in the kitchen; whether it’s trying a new recipe from TikTok or baking and decorating cakes, it’s always a blast. In fact, if I weren’t an accountant, I’d probably be an events organiser; I love planning and putting things together.
