Before I took on the role of group finance head, most of my experience had been in reporting, compliance and operational finance. The new role has required me to think strategically, lead diverse teams, manage cashflow and negotiate with investors, all while directly contributing to major business decisions. To date, I have raised over US$50m in debt and equity financing to support renewable energy projects and business growth.

What I enjoy most about my job is solving problems and helping find practical solutions. I like bringing people together, discussing different perspectives and working as a team to find the best solution. ‘Together, we can do it’ is my favourite mantra. Every problem is an opportunity to learn, collaborate and create value for the business.

The CFO role is evolving from managing financial processes to shaping business strategy

Solaric Group is a solar energy business, and the ongoing conflict in the Gulf creates both challenges and opportunities. Rising fossil fuel prices and energy security concerns are accelerating the shift toward solar energy, increasing demand for rooftop solar solutions in Bangladesh. At the same time, inflation, supply chain disruption and more expensive logistics are putting pressure on costs and financing. Solaric is strengthening its supply chain and financial management to mitigate risks, and we are confident in the strong long-term growth of the renewable energy market.

AI’s greatest impact is that it enables finance to become a true strategic business partner. Instead of spending most of our time preparing information, we can now focus on interpreting data, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing real-time insights that support better business decisions. The role of the CFO is evolving from managing financial processes to shaping business strategy.

I think there should be stronger legislation around transparency and accountability in both the public and private sectors. Trust is the foundation of sustainable economic growth, and transparent governance encourages investment, reduces corruption and ensures that resources are used responsibly.

I was a member of a rock band, composing songs and playing the guitar

At university, I was a member of a rock band. I wrote lyrics, composed songs and played the guitar. Music was a creative outlet that also taught me discipline, teamwork and the importance of connecting with people through a shared vision. However, I’ve always been drawn to building things and solving problems, so if I hadn’t pursued a career in accounting and finance, I would have liked to be an entrepreneur. I enjoy turning ideas into reality, taking calculated risks and creating value.

In my own time, I enjoy playing the guitar, photography, football and chess. Music and photography allow me to express my creativity, while football keeps me active and chess sharpens my thinking. This helps me to relax, recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
