Leading ACCA members and experts will be among those taking part in the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) in Mumbai on 18–21 November.

ACCA is also hosting several side events for members attending the four-day event, as well as short talks and activities on its exhibition stand (see panels), which will promote ACCA’s ‘Accounting for a better world’ theme.

The World Congress is held once every four years under the aegis of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). The 2022 event is being hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Its theme this year is ‘Building Trust: Enabling Sustainability’, focusing on the important role of the accountancy profession as a protector of public interest and in enabling sustainable economies for the future.

ACCA members on stage during the event will include outgoing IFAC president Alan Johnson, ACCA deputy president Joseph Owolabi and Sanjay Rughani, chair of the IFAC Professional Accountants in Business Advisory Group. ACCA’s Chun Wee Chiew, Asia Pacific policy lead, will also be on stage in his capacity as member of the International Auditing and Accounting Standards Board (IAASB).

More information and updates on developments will be available over coming weeks, and during the event, on ACCA's WCOA hub.
