These are incredibly challenging times, and ACCA is working hard to support members and our wider community on the road to business recovery.

ACCA members have been playing a key role in assessing the financial implications of Covid-19, and technology has underpinned many of the business solutions being implemented in response. More than ever, professional accountants need to have advanced digital knowledge and practical skills so that they can harness new technology and guide digital investment and decision-making.

ACCA has therefore been focusing on the power of technology to keep members at the forefront of the profession. Insights, qualifications, CPD, articles and virtual events have all been made available to equip members to find lasting solutions and take advantage of evolving career paths for the digital accountant.

The qualification goes digital

The ACCA Qualification continues to evolve to reflect the importance of technology in members’ professional lives. Data, digital and technology are covered throughout the syllabus.

As the business world is transformed by the onward march of digital technology, ACCA has also been changing its exam delivery method, from paper-based to computer-based.

In 2016 the first Applied Skills computer-based exams were rolled out for some markets. Since June 2019 all our markets have moved to computer-based exams at Applied Skills level.

In March 2020 the first students sat Strategic Professional computer-based exams in selected locations in the UK, Ireland and Czech Republic. By September 2021 Strategic Professional computer-based exams will have been rolled out to all markets.
