While my university major was statistics, finance became the subject for me. I like that I’m able to apply numbers tactically, while also being able to work with statistics, which is interesting.

My current role is operations and project director in our firm Management & Accountancy Training Limited. The most interesting part of my role is the challenge of there being two parts to it. On the one hand, my responsibility is to manage and oversee operations; on the other, my responsibility is to manage all projects. These two areas must always be active and energetic.

I have more confidence after becoming a fellow of ACCA and successfully completing many challenging global projects

I do a variety of work and challenging projects, but I’m fortunate to have a strong and cohesive team behind me who make it possible to tackle each challenge. I think I’m one of the luckiest people in the world because I enjoy my career, but I have worked hard to get to this position and there remains a lot more for me to achieve.

There are many things that have influenced my career. In an era of rapid IT advancement, we can get finance information from any country easily, online or through social media. This makes it easier to analyse information, which in turn helps us to become more efficient finance professionals.

Data from different countries’ stock exchanges has boosted my confidence. In comparison with other nations, Myanmar’s stock market is less developed; however, I do see progress. I think that growing such a market has pushed my career forward.

My ultimate objective, whether as an accountant or trainer, is to share knowledge

To become a trainer was my childhood dream. As well as being an accountant, I have worked as a financial teacher since 2000. I am now a lecturer in a training school and a trainer for a corporate firm. My work with Management & Accountancy Training Limited gives me exposure to and experience of all industries, which supports my teaching.

My biggest achievement in my career so far is reaching and progressing in my current role. I have more confidence after becoming a fellow of ACCA and successfully completing many challenging global projects.

My burning desire in life is to share the technical and practical knowledge I’ve acquired with the people of my country. A part of this is to one day write and publish technical books.

If I weren’t an accountant, I would be a statistician. My ultimate objective, whether as an accountant or trainer, is to share knowledge.
