I started my career at tobacco company Sampoerna, which is owned by Philip Morris International. It was a great place to begin my journey in finance and to really see how the profession can affect the stability of a family, a community, an organisation, a factory or a country.

I also got to understand that working in finance is positively challenging, always pushing you to stay up-to-date and to improve yourself.

My father has taught me about resilience, especially in a business environment

As an accountant, I really enjoy being able to operate at my best. I especially like figuring out new ways in which to support a company through being innovative and developing easier and faster solutions and processes.

My work helps prevent corporate fraud, which can be truly detrimental to the morality of a company’s workforce and its future. This is something I’m very proud of.

Deloitte provides everything I need to boost my career alongside experienced colleagues and seniors, who are open-minded and like to share and discuss finance. They are very inspiring. Difficult problems are solved through teamwork, a process through which I also improve and develop my skillset.

My father has inspired me along my career path; he truly is a fighter. He has taught me about resilience, especially in a business environment. He taught me to never give up but, most importantly, he taught me about truth.

Businesses globally need good financial management to grow and contribute to local stability

I’m intrigued by the e-commerce and working-from-home phenomena. So many sectors can exist online, including finance; it’s fast, safe and suits a globally dispersed workforce.

We’re also living in an era of online marketing, so people can manage a business from home; in fact, thanks to the pandemic, they’ve seen first hand that it can be efficient and provide cost savings.

I feel lucky to be interested in finance because I can work anywhere and everywhere. Businesses globally need good financial management to grow and contribute to local stability. Loyalty comes from good financial management.

If I weren’t a financial auditor, I’d perhaps be a finance manager, or an artist. But really, I’d prefer to be a businesswoman. I could use my special talent: analysing accounting problems.

I could develop a global network to help provide opportunities and profit. People from around the world could come together and I could make something new – something from my dreams.
