Becoming an ACCA member was the best decision I ever made. It has truly opened the entire world to me. It provided me with the robust technical framework to confidently handle complex IFRS, treasury and audit matters from day one. More than that, its global recognition meant I could build a career across different countries and industries, which is exactly what I have done. ACCA made my international journey possible.
Across the Gulf region, where I worked for over a decade, the ACCA qualification is a gold standard. It is a passport that grants you immediate credibility with multinational corporations and large local conglomerates. Among these is Almana and Partners – one of Qatar’s largest conglomerates, operating across construction, FMCG, retail and equipment leasing – where I worked as senior accountant and business process analyst.
I find immense professional satisfaction in knowing my work directly enhances efficiency
My current role, and first finance position in Ireland, is as financial accountant with Homeology Retrofit. I oversee the finance function end to end with responsibilities that include budgeting, financial reporting, cashflow management and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure strong financial control as the business grows.
Based in Navan, Co. Meath, Homeology Retrofit is a specialist in deep and rapid retrofitting. The goal is to help homeowners modernise, future-proof and improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The company manages the entire process, from grant applications through to final inspection.
The opportunity to translate financial data into tangible business value and resilience is something I find incredibly satisfying. Whether it’s by designing more robust processes, embedding stronger internal controls or providing insights that directly shape operational strategy, I find immense professional satisfaction in knowing my work directly enhances efficiency, mitigates risk and drives sustainable profitability.
As a true business partner, you don’t just report on profitability; you actively create it
I moved to Ireland in 2025 and have been captivated by the innovation and energy of the business landscape here. I’m keen to contribute and embed myself in this community, and I look forward to the professional connections and challenges that lie ahead. I came to the country to pursue an MSc in international accounting and analytics at the University of Galway; I’m proud to say I graduated with first-class honours.
I believe a great accountant doesn’t just record what happened; they influence how the business operates. Experience has taught me that the most significant financial gains come from improving the underlying processes – by stepping out of the finance function and collaborating with other departments to streamline operations, embed controls and remove inefficiencies. As a true business partner, you don’t just report on profitability; you actively create it.
Exploring the incredible Irish countryside has been one of my great discoveries since moving here. When I need to disconnect, I enjoy hiking through scenic landscapes. It has become a perfect way to clear my head and gain a fresh perspective, which I find essential for both personal and professional effectiveness.
