In this issue, we provide highlights of a far-reaching new report on the state of the profession in Africa. Jointly commissioned by ACCA, PwC and the Pan African FederatIon of Accountants, the study is full of fascinating insights and reveals the key role of finance professionals in the development of the continent.

 

We also speak with Moses Chavi FCCA, head of internal audit at Qatar’s public transport company Mowasalat (Karwa). Originally from Malawi, Chavi has spent much of the last decade with Big Four firms in the Middle East working in several Gulf countries. Now in the public sector, he’s excited to be helping deliver a smooth transport experience for football fans attending the Fifa World Cup.
